Abstract
The society that we live in now is fully associated with the issue of moral deterioration, whereby
as a result we come across various forms of actions that are not worthy to the society that we live
in now, among them being corruption, drugs, and substance use, child trafficking, sexual abuse,
abortion, suicide, euthanasia, eugenic sterilization, murder, capital punishment and so forth.
However, on the other way, people are not fully responsible for their duties, the findings show that
majority of them are not committed to their responsibilities fully. The primary cause of the
deterioration of moral and ethical values as well as what we call mental corruption are the impacts
of mass media, science, and technology, modernization, globalization, etc. The present research,
therefore, is an endeavor to highlight and communicate the issue over the decline of moral and
ethical values in our today’s society. Currently, in our societies we are witnessing a situation where
moral norms have been abandoned to the depths of the ocean, moral standards are unquestionably
declining, and everything is now materialistic. The research also tries to draw attention to the
various factors that are thought to be behind the deterioration and fall of moral and ethical values
in our societies, and finally, we will express our focus on the preventive measures to be taken.
Following this, therefore, there is an urgent need to focus on and develop moral and ethical values
among the people in our societies. However, as materialism is affecting and covering every sphere,
attention should be shifted towards enhancing and developing ethical and moral values, especially
among youths who identify the prospect of a society.
