Jesus Christ: Empowerment of The Oppressed In Search for Liberation Southern Sudan Perspective

The words "oppression-struggle-liberation-freedom" have become some of the much spoken words in our world, particularly in Sudan. They echo cries of despair of a people who yearn for freedom, justice and peace. However, God's promises of liberation — the exodus and the liberating acts of Yahweh which achieve their full meaning in Jesus Christ — are foundations of hope from which victims of oppression get their courage and strength to determinedly and efficiently work for liberation as the building of God's Kingdom. Liberation, in this context, is a biblical language, that is, Yahweh who heard the groaning of his oppressed people in Egypt always hears and takes side with the oppressed of every age, space and race. He is a liberator, redeemer and savior who, with his mighty hand and in great love, brought his people Israel out of the house of bondage to prepare them for himself. Whenever they strayed from him and fell victim to oppression, Yahweh always freed them. Finally, Yahweh sent his only Son — - the Messiah, liberator par excellence — to free humanity from all forms of evil. In these events dwells all hope for liberation. The Old and the New Testament are an account of God's liberating acts of love on behalf of the poor and the oppressed.
An Analysis on Empowerment of Women in Githunguri, Kambaa and Miguta Parishes in Kiambu

In the contemporary world where every sphere of human life is advancing to a great height, the issue of gender equality and fair treatment is among the issues discussed. For a long time women have been considered and taken as the second sex, weaker sex, the second class human beings. They have been neglected, oppressed, discriminated against, ridiculed, abused and above all their presence and contribution in the development process has been underrated. In post-independent Africa, especially in the last three decades, many voices are raised in defence and uplifting of women. There is a realisation that women have a high potential and that their place in the society is equal to that of their male counterparts if not even better. This has caused an explosion of liberation theories and practicalities that geared to raising the status-quo of women. Different countries, cultures and localities have come up with strategies of empowering women. Much effort has been put into this issue, but much is yet to be done, and to be achieved. In Kenya, issues concerning women have been mostly addressed and effected in urban areas while the rural women in many cases have remained in the same situation. It is the rural women that this study will concentrate on, trying to investigate their education, economical, political, cultural, and religious status and the extent of their empowerment. Muriithi observes that: The proper empowerment of these women that we hope will be effected gradually; will witness a tremendous revolution for the better of the present women and men.
Socio- Economic Empowerment of the Marginalised Women in the Society

The purpose of this Full Project Thesis is to research the factors that causes socio-economic marginalisation of women in the society and how they can be empowered socio-economically. This will be only be limited to Ruiru Catholic Parish which covers the whole Division..The researcher has worked in the Parish as Social Minister, for sometimes and therefore his personal experience will contribute a lot to this Project thesis. The researcher encountered the women at working areas in the Parish. The women inhabiting this Particular Parish can be categorised into various groups. There are those who are married, single mothers, windows and divorces. Our research will try to cover all the above women classes, since in each category, we have the socio-economic marginalised women among the five mentioned groups. This chapter will deal with; Geographical background, flistorical background of the inhabitants, Background of the problem, Objectives of the research, Assumption of the research, clarification of terms and organisation of the research. Chapter one deals with background of the Ruiru Parish and historical background of its inhabitants. The chapter also is elaborating about the background of the problem, statement of the problem, justification of the problem, research question objectives of the research, research assumptions the scope and limitations of the research and finally, the key words for the research are clarified. Chapter two has outlined the literature review of the project research while chapter three is informing us on the research methodology applied. Chapter four deals with the data analysis, i.e., on the results and discussions. The last chapter, i.e., chapter five is informing us on the kind of project proposal proposed for this research. Pertaining to this full scale project thesis we have tried to make use of both qualitative and quantitative approaches whereby we integrated them with the see-judge-act methodology. The time we had was short and so we cannot pretend that this work was exhaustive.
Role and Empowerment of Women in the Family

This essay is divided into five chapters which deals with some specific role of women and how they can be empowered within those roles. Chapter One: Discusses women's workload, women's central roles in the family: domestic, education, socialisation and empowerment of women in those roles. Chapter Two: Will deal with women's economy and the family in Nyeri and women in economic labour market and its impact. Chapter Three: Discusses women's role in the family health care with some focus on empowerment in this area, and women and lily/AIDS. Chapter Four: Focuses on domestic violence against women in the family. Chapter Five: Discusses religious role of women in the family, focusing on catechesis and evangelization, Church's teaching about women, and Church's pastoral approach in empowering women. The chapter will also deal with the observations and recommendations which have featured in different chapters of this essay, and end with a general conclusion.
