Abstract
As a sister of the Divine Savior (Salvatorian), and also as a student in the Institute of Spirituality and religious formation, the researcher would like to make a reflection on consecrated life in a manner that reflects what she has gained in her studies in Spirituality ; how a religious must personally grow in his or her relationship with God and his or her neighbour. This paper explores the subject which directly focuses on Growing in the personal response to God through the Evangelical counsels among Salvatorians sisters in Congo. This section of the work presents the background of the topic and the purpose and the conclusion.
The work is presented in three chapters. The first chapter of the work looks at the personal response to God, which is divided into three sections. The first section begins with a Biblical understanding of God’s call, the second examines personal response to God through Salvatorian life ; and the third explores the Gift of a personal calling in consecrated life.
The second chapter deals with the theme of responding to God’s call through the Evangelical counsels, which will again be divided into three sections. The first section deals with the understanding of the evangelical counsels. The second section looks at the Evangelical counsels as the basis of community life and the third section explores the Evangelical counsels as a way of love and faithfulness to God.
The third chapter explores growth in personal response to God’s presence. The chapter is divided into three sections. The first section explores the importance of spiritual growth in consecrated life. The second examines growth in relationship with God through personal response to one’s gift of the individual’s vocation, and the last section focuses on personal growth as Salvatorian sister.
