Abstract
In the first chapter of my essay, I will look at a few views about morality. This is in
view to broaden the difinition of morality and to serve as an introduction to my topic of
study. The different moral views illustrate methods and the understanding of morality vary
but the end of any morality is the desired human action.
In the second chapter I will summarise the practices used to achieve the moral
development or education among the Meru community. Though the practices take many
years to implement or happen, the goal is to shape the attitudes of the people to have the
desired moral values. This enables them to behave in ways acceptable to others and the
community in general.
In chapter three I will consider some of the moral views, in chapter one, which
favours the moral values of the Meru community. This is to support my argument that the
Meru moral values attained in moral development are good and should be maintained. The
moral values and practices should be incoporated in moral teachings and pastoral action, when
dealing with the community.
The last part of the essay is the conclusion where I draw several observations.
