Abstract
In this chapter, I present the meaning and significance of marriage among Baganda, and
also according to the Christian (Catholic) teaching. Before we discuss the preparation of marriage
in chapters II and III, we need to understand the meaning and significance of marriage. The
meaning of marriage that we acquire from this chapter, will help us to consider and to discuss the
preparation for marriage
