Abstract
In our world today we experience a lot of technological advances, as a result of development.
These technological advances have helped the humankind to make our world a better place to live.
However, these technological and scientific advancements have brought with them not only
advantages, but also disadvantages. The human being has gone to an extent of thinking that he is
autonomous in everything; forgetting that we cannot do without God who is the creator and primary
cause of everything (Gen. lff).
In this study we are going to deal with the sexual problems affecting the young people in our
world today, and how to handle them. We choose this topic because during many youth seminars and
workshops which we facilitated, most of the youths expressed various sexual problems facing them.
Having worked in Madam Slums especially with the young people, we decided to concentrate our
study on Mathare slums txtrimste the most prevalent problem there among the youth is sexuality and
reproductive health, despite poverty, lack of employment, crime, etc.
We cannot pretend that such sexual crisis among the young people does not exist, became the
young people, according to a recent research comprise of 60% of Kenyan population today. That is
why we decided to undertake such an important study, to be able to understand more deeply the situation.
