Evangelization is the core and summit of the Church's mission in the world. The word "evangelization" comes from the Greek ievangelionc which means 'good news'. The Church is called and sent to proclaim the Good News, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature" (Mk! 6: 15). Evangelization is a dynamic and on-going process that takes root in Jesus Christ, the full revelation of God and spread throughout the whole human race. "What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of Life — for life was made visible; we have seen it [...] and proclaim to you" (lJnI: 1-2). In a sense, evangelization is the proclamation of the Life of God made visible and present in the Person of Christ. In other words, evangelization is the giving and the celebration of Life.en_US
