Abstract
This essay is divided into two major parts: Part one is an Exegesis that contains a
selection of texts. It deals mainly with different understandings of the suffering of Job by
different personages in the Book of Job: The three friends (Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar), Job
himself, Flihu, and God. Part Two deals with the theology of the text, and some pastoral
implications.
