- ItemRadio Drama as a Tool for Sensitizing People On Social Issues(Institute of Social Communication, 2010) Gachanja, Lilies, WanjikuThis study discusses the use of radio drama as a tool for sensitizing people on social issues. The researcher will find out how radio drama is currently used and come up with suggestions on practical ideas for the use of radio drama to open up the audience to practical solutions to various happenings around them rather than theoretic reporting. Radio has picked up as traditional media systems are being discarded.' In the African context, media is seen as always right, which is not always the case. Radio drama, which is fictional, can seem like factual and it is good for the producer of the drama to inform the audience of the reality of or the lack of it in the drama. With the coming of the mobile technology, radio listening has been extended to everyone who has access to such mobile phones thus radio dramas can infiltrate society to form opinions on certain ideas.
