The Impact of Women Development in the Church: Case Study of the Catholic Women at Holy Savior Parish, Kafue Zambia
(Tangaza University College, 2011) Sanicalimba, Kelly
This essay is intended to show the dignity of women in today's society by studying the impact of the service of women in the development of the Church and the society at large. This case study intends to show how women are actively involved in the process of development of the Kafue Parish in Zambia in the Archdiocese of Lusaka. It has been my concern to find out how women have been contributing to the development of the Church in Zambia. In this particular instance, I have looked at a particular case that will give an overview of the role of women in the development of the Church in Zambia. A case study of my Parish, Kafue in Zambia was what I came out with to help investigate this scenario. For sometime, I would say 15 years; I have seen great improvement in the way women are trying to contribute to the development of the Parish. As the number of women joining various organizations that exists at the Parish has steadily increased. I have been asking myself why this is the case. Fifteen years ago it was not like that. This has been my experience and that is what the parishioners who have been attending the Parish are also asking. I AM interested to know what cultural values were embraced at that particular time and if at all they were in conflict with values held by the parishioners and the teachings of the church. What then has changed that their development efforts are being recognized? I am motivated to find out what these channels are that women currently have employed in their contributions to the development in the Church. Have they overcome some stigmatizations or rather stereotypes that were there in the past years? We will also investigate what contributions women have made in the whole area of leadership in the church. We will further look at its theological and sociological implications. It is my view that this paper will also help in further research concerning women in the church.

Development of Value Systems among Christian Teenagers
(Tangaza University College, 2007) Chizoba Ibeneme, Nicholas
A past experience in Nigeria, where the researcher was involved in assisting the Y.C.S. students in High school, in education to Christian values and attitudes, was the first reason that motivated the choice of a high school for this research. Being in Kenya, the researcher thought it wise to work with high school students basically for their openness and willingness to learn and live a quality life. The researcher chooses two high schools — St Mary Girls' High School and Thigio Boys' High School, which are under the jurisdiction of one of our Vincentians parishes, Holy Cross parish, situated at Limuru. A good combination of the two schools for young men and women will definitely help the researcher to come up with a more holistic view on how the young people understand and live out their values in our present day society.

The Role of Technical Training in Development
(Tangaza University College, 1998-08) Taban, Joseph
This year 1998, I had the opportunity to spend one month and some weeks in St. Joseph's Vocational Training Centre in Khartoum-Sudan. This centre is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. This report is the result of my experience and it is an assessment of the project by being involved in it, after observing and trying to interview Fathers, Students, Teachers and the Workers, as well as those who came to my assistance. However, I feel that due to my short involvement in this project I do not have a deep understanding and evaluation of the whole set up which a paper of this kind would require. This experience has been very meaningful and enriching to me as a Comboni Brother. I think this will help me to understand how a project is set or runs.

Positive Use of Communication for Development
(Tangaza College, 2009) Mwathi, Ireri, Nyaga
We live in an ever more complex global society, on a planet where more than 2 billion people try to survive on less than $2 a day. Many people in developing countries are confronted with massive, desperately difficult challenges: hunger, HIV and AIDS, population growth, climate change, war and the daily struggle of poverty. Tools of communication in the present world has become powerful instruments, taking on a wide social role, conferring status on public issues, people, organizations and social movements. Research testifies that the standing of social policies is raised when they are delivered by people who command favorable attention in the media. Media and communication exposure legitimizes the status of individuals, groups and their causes. Societies that have harnessed the potential of Information and Communications have attained significant social and economic development. In addition, they are rapidly transforming into information and knowledge-based economies.2 Knowledge and information are essential for people to successfully respond to the opportunities and challenges of social, economic and technological changes. But to be useful, knowledge and information must be effectively communicated to people

The Role of TV in Changing Attitudes to Promote Effective Development in Kenya
(Institute of Social Communication, 2010) Anyura, Victor, Oluoch
More than ever information has become the most important resource anyone can have. It is the defining line between the powerful and the powerless. And what is Africa's stake in all of this? According to Owen (2008:133) if we see through the eyes of Salim Amin, the son of the late Kenyan photojournalist, Mohammed Amin, we discover that information is a power that has for too long, evaded the hands of the people of Africa.' This is an unfortunate position in this information age. The media is a carrier and disseminator of this information. This makes it a powerful tool capable of defining a society and influencing attitudes. The messages it sends out by different media outlets will most likely have an impact on the opinions of those who come into contact with them. This will lead to a change in attitudes and behavior.
